Beef Tandoori Recipe: A Flavorful Indian Delight

Ingredients:

For the Marinade:

– 1 kg beef (boneless, cut into large chunks)
– 1 cup yogurt
– 2 tablespoons ginger paste
– 2 tablespoons garlic paste
– 1 tablespoon lemon juice
– 2 tablespoons tandoori masala powder
– 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
– 1 teaspoon red chili powder
– 1 teaspoon cumin powder
– 1 teaspoon coriander powder
– 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
– 1 tablespoon mustard oil
– Salt to taste

For Cooking:

– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or ghee
– Lemon wedges for garnish
– Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Marinade:

– In a large mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, lemon juice, tandoori masala powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, mustard oil, and salt.
– Mix well to form a smooth marinade.

2. Marinate the Beef:

– Add the beef chunks to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated.
– Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

3. Preheat the Grill or Oven:

– If using a grill, preheat it to medium-high heat.
– If using an oven, preheat it to 220°C (430°F). Line a baking tray with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.

4. Cook the Beef Tandoori:

– Remove the marinated beef from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature.
– Thread the beef chunks onto skewers.
– If grilling, brush the grill with vegetable oil or ghee to prevent sticking. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the beef is cooked through and slightly charred.
– If using an oven, place the skewers on the wire rack and bake for 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through, until the beef is cooked through and slightly charred.

5. Serve:

– Once cooked, remove the beef tandoori from the grill or oven.
– Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and lemon wedges.
– Serve hot with naan, rice, or a side salad.
